it is interesting how things went from mechanical (physical space) to digital (conceptual space) and back to physical space again. Though, I guess now we have the option of dealing with (designing) the mechanical interface separately from its conceptual functionality. Kind of like MVC concept I guess.
I wonder what sort of a sensor it is. It sounds to me like it's a pressure / bend sensor since they're talking about resistance. Perhaps the sense resolution is much much higher than anything that exists now. Of course, I'm not much of a specialist with these things so I'm just taking wild guesses. Pressure sensitive touchscreens? Or velocity sensitive touchscreens with poly(or any) aftertouch?

Of course it would be poly since current screens are Multi-Touch and adding velocity would be a minor software issue. It would be an amazing music interface if any engineer with an iota of imagination gets a hold of it.
