I want to set up a default project in Pulsar II using a Midi patchbay (Emagic Unitor8), and a DAT recorder. Cubase i use as sequencer. I want to setup 20 audio channels and use approx. 2 softsynths. Is it hard to setup a softsynth controlled by a midi keyboard?

wrong forum, you have neither a tip nor trick!
for the default project, you need: several seq source/dest modules for your MIDI interface, and if you want SPDIF on dat, spdif source/dest modules. An ASIO source/dest with 20 I's and 2 or more O's
there is nothing pulsar specific for controlling soft synths - just connect MIDI source > Sequencer Dest. The rest is all in Cubase.
