I'm trying to decide between the "Acoustic Pianos Volume 1" and the "Prosonus Steinway" piano. Big Fish audio said there are some format issues specific to the Prosonus Steinway CD that may make it impossible to load the samples in any machine other than a Akai Sampler. Does this CD work with Creamware samplers?
Another question:
He says that in order to get the 128 meg sets you would have to load 4 32 meg banks because the Akai has a maximum of 32 megs per bank. Is this problematic for STS samplers and sample players?
Thirdly:
The APV1 CD has an advantage of containing 250 meg sets but I think these might be on the second CD which is STS5000/6000. Is there a way to convert S5000 banks into S1000 or STS format banks?
Fourthly:
The APV1 seems to be advertized as more of a jazz and rock piano sound while the Prosonus seems to be for classical. Does anyone have anything to say about this?

from Akai s1000 to s5000 yes, s6000 donno...

No, i've loaded a 145meg Piano program in STS3000

CDXtract convert S5000 to Pulsat .P & .S really fast, ChickenSys Translator transform them into .STS & .WAV also. With ChickenSys Translator you can also convert them back to whatever format you want to exchange with other people (for example : Convert an Akai S5000 to STS, modify the program, add layer in STS, after convert it back to Akai S3000 an burn a CD with your new program to give a friends)

This i donno at all! I have home made (well, studio made) samples and Miroslav Vitous library...

I am still not sure how to load akai samples so that I can have velocity switching. I see different banks for different velocity. Do I load each one into a separate layer and adjust the velocity switching manually or is there one file I can load which will automatically do that for me?
