Stereo and Mono devices

Hi, I've tried the demo versions of the NuGen Audio plugins, specifically Monofilter, Stereoizer, Stereoplacer, and Visualizer.

These VSTs are top quality, have a wonderful user interfaces, and as a bundle, they represent great value.

Stereoplacer is a frequency-dependent Pan control basically, like a Multiband Panner I guess.
http://nugenaudio.com/stereoplacer.php
Stereoizer is a 'traditional' Stereo Image widening/narrowing tool.
http://nugenaudio.com/stereoizer.php
Monofilter is a low-pass mono'izer - centres bass frequencies.
http://nugenaudio.com/monofilter.php
Visualizer is an amazingly deep Spectral Visualizer with applications throughout the production process
http://nugenaudio.com/visualizer.php
(Btw, if you sign up to their newsletter, you get sent a series of 5 pdfs over a period of weeks with great info on the practical use of Spectral Visualization, both in general and with their Visualizer tool. Well worth signing up for..).

So, my question is, what are the equivalent devices / device chains in Scope?
I am pretty sure that Visualizer is unique. But the other three (Monofilter, Stereoplacer, Stereoizer) are possibly already done up in Scope, or are do'able...

Any thoughts or opinions?

Thanks, Eanna

I use Nugen plugs in every project, especially Visualizer and Monofilter.
They are simply great.
Their new Peak Limiter, ISL, is also great and I use it in every mastering chain.
I don't think there is anything in Scope that is equivalent.
I usually feed scope mixes/masters/stems back to the daw and insert Nugen plugs in the return channel(s).
This is useful for monoing the bass frequencies to get better clarity and definition in the bass.
I use ARC 2 acoustic correction when mixing and mastering and I have found it introduces artefacts in left or right channels depending on the material and its panning. This makes establishing a good stereo balance difficult so I use Visualizer to keep an eye on the stereo balance and phasing.
I dont use stereoplacer or stereoizer much as I think you get better results with Mid Side manipluation in plugs such as Brainworx BX v2 adn DAS Dynapara M/S and MasterIT EQ.

Thanks for replying. Yeah, monofilter and visualizer don't appear to have an analogy in Scope. I do think there is room for a Monofilter-type device in Scope... shouldn't be so difficult to implement at a guess...

I did enjoy using the Stereoplacer too. The UIs are so great on these plugins! They're a joy to use. I find that it produced quite natural results, making it easy to dial in probably too much width... It seemed to me that Stereoplacer and Monofilter were to sides to a coin...

I have been looking at the Dynapara M/S device from DAS. It looks wonderfully powerful (for the price)!
Do the DAS devices stand up in the face of stiff competition from native plugins, in the same way that the Virtual Analog synths do in Scope versus VSTi's?
It would seem that, with Dynapara M/S and MasterIT, you have most of the bases covered - L/R EQ, M/S EQ, and Multiband Dynamics. Any other standout DAS devices?

Brainworx has ceased support for Scope, so their XL product isn't an option... Not that I mind, I didn't have a particularly satisfying interaction with the plugin-alliance sales staff in the recent past...

Does Sonic Core usually have a Device sale around Christmas?

I must say, I reach for BX V2 first when I need M/S EQ, but Dynapara is wonderful and in a class of its own when it comes to dynamic frequency based cut or boost in stereo or M/S modes. I find MasterIt less intuitive but still very useful.
There is no doubt these plugs stack up extremely well against any native VSTi's.
Sonic Core does have xmas sales although afaik the plugs did not get a run this xmas. They are rightfully pushing XITE-1.

have a great xmas.
