found this on kvr.. it's a sequencer/arrangement generator combo of some sort. Great concept. It's got song writing tools that are music theory sensitive and AI assisted, etc, and supposedly helps you do bulk tasks with some musical sensibility. But the demos.. man, what comes out of the machine has got some ways to go. True, it may be better than randomly doodling on the piano roll.. and theoretically, things are correct.. I guess the gradient between "correct" and "sounds great!" is pretty big. It is, AI after all.
It's an interesting concept, and I think it has potential, but for whatever reason, a lot of these theory/ai assisted tech (like songsmith) end up sounding very bland and usually have an overly "happy" sounding bass line.. At least they could have chosen better demos..
But they do call it a "prototype" tool. I can see it being useful for writing melodies/lyrics for singers who'd rather get going with the song writing rather than get caught up with arrangement. I guess it really isn't meant to be replace an arranger.
Cognitone.. great concept, results are meh

well, I always liked Band in a Box for such stuff...
(this looks like an approach to mimick it with a modern look - and to cash in, if I peek to the shop)
cheers, Tom
