Wouldn't a multi-touch monitor be able to do this kinda thing at a snip of the price?

I have an iPad that I use TouchOSC and Lemur on. then I added an RDP (remote client to access windows), and now I can scope while sitting on a toilet...in Paris. Sound should work, but I need to work that out still, properly.
also take a look at wouterz ( a user here) multi-touch app, which supports copperlan. And was designed to be a controller on a multitouch screen. If only there were good multitouch screens available.

The
Samsung SUR40 looks a good multitouch screen - 40inch
Pixel Sense
Cool demo of both in action
I'd love that streaming out osc and midi messages, a great live performance machine at a touch over the price of the continuum fingerboard
