USB devices

I was looking at adding a MIDI touch/drum pad unit to my system. MIDI keyboards and pads are becoming more and more USB rather than MIDI cable connections. I was wondering if a USB device would work with XITE, and what the source module would be in Scope.
Also will it work if I have my vst sampler in my DAW?
Thanks for any advice.

if you are using a DAW then, yes, use: "Sequencer Midi Source" in Scope, this is the only way to use a usb controller with scope.
Also you must make sure that midi thru is active in your DAW.
So the Chain would look like this:
In your DAW:
Select the USB controller as the midi input for the selected midi track.
Select your Xite Midi out as the Midi out for the selected track also
And finally select the Desired midi channel that your Scope synth or Sampler is set to.
In Xite(Scope):
Connect the "Sequencer Midi Source" module to all Synths that you are using, up to 16, 1 for each midi channel, if more is needed you must add another midi module in Scope and enable it in the Daw respectively.
That should do it!

The other options:
1.) Get an iConnect. It's a generic USB/MIDI interface, and can also do USB>MIDI without a host computer involved.
(So this would be between the drum interface and the XITE's MIDI Port)
2.) Get an older drum interface, that has MIDI, so you can connect directly to the XITE.

And dont forget MIDIOX, if you want to play a Scope instrument with your USB controller without a DAW program loaded.

Thanks to all for the helpful replies. Seems I shouldn't have any problems (except chosing my USB device!!

I have avoided using a slave computer by using 2 x instances of Reaper.
It has a regular install and a portable install.
One is the template so no sounds or patches need reloading, replaces the need for VE Pro.
The other instance holds all MIDI and Audio and LoopBe1 is used, and has the least latency of all of the internal MIDI solutions I have tried.
Send a MIDI PrgmCHng message on a certain channel, then the transposrt takes over from my controller.
Using Scope devices I can send multiple MIDI PrgmChnges on multiple channels with one button press as I can control several MIDI Filters with the snapshot device.
