PCI overflow spacyness..

I've had this problem for years now...might have been since the 5.0 upgrade, i dont remember. Whenever i shut down a program that uses the scope drivers i get a Pci overflow error, and scope needs to reset. This also happens as soon as i change any audio preferences settings in reaper or pro tools... it seems like the board is set to "reset bord when idle" - but it should be shut off (and i did that in the soundcard settigns in windows.. anybody know how to turn the function off in cset.ini or any other file? (if that is indeed the problem)
thanks!

Try to search which device shares IRQ with your scope card. Is this is a simple USB port that isn't used , deactivate this port.
Else if there is a PCI port free , try that other PCI.

no conflict and if i use another pci port i will get conflicts:) I'm thinking that it somehow is resetting my board when the drivers are idle - even though its set not to do it. And of anyone knows how to edit it manually in some file, please chime in
-And yes, i tried a clean scope install.

it's not the "reset board if idle" setting. it's something about the way that your system works. there may be nothing practical that you can do about it. it doesn't seem like a big deal, just soemthing that's annoying as hell. everything works fine after the ok button to reload the dsps is pressed, and it doesn't happen during work, right?

exactly. Except if i want to change any settings in reaper i will get the PCI error and reaper will crash (the same with pro tools).
-One of my boards is a little iffy (adats are all garbled noise.. tried looking for broken solder joints, tried cleaning the ports, tried baking the card in an oven - nothing helps) - so it might be the half broken cards fault. - who knows. But it sure would be nice to get rid of the problem!
Well next week i'll get a RME raydat card and use that as my main card (so i can use all cores of my cpu in pro tools, it throws up if i use all cores and the scope card at the same time), so that will solve it. I will keep the scope cards wired via adat connections so i still have access to scope synths etc.
But thanks for the advice everyone

yep, that sounds like a bad card. if you take that card out, do the errors go away?

I bet you have tried this allready, but re-seating/cleaning the cards and stdm-cables works magic on a lot of overflow messages...
