Definitely a lot of confusion surrounding this question (myself included!)
And you've seen this before:

Looks like fra77x is the only one who has it working... you also have that Volkszampler CD I sent to you...

Yeah, but there's an annoying startup screen and it take ages to load cause of that...
The Promotionnal Volkszampler does not have the samplepool also... Anyway, I wanted to use to FULL Volksz without the annoying splash screen that the 'DEMO' is plagued with , so i can save a bit on DSP to use some MasterVerbs.
I have a Luna + a Pulsar1, so a have 7DSPs. With seven DSPs, i can put 1 STS3000@16voices+ 1 DubSub@1voice + 1 TB303@1voice (by Orbitone) + 1 Masterverbs on an Aux send&return. Without the STS, i could use more synths. And a single VST (Volksz) can work almost in realtime on a P3@1ghz.
Before V3, i could use more synths or effects than that. But while i wait for a patch for STS3000 (filter bug) the Volkszampler seemed the solution.
Well, if fra77x can explain a bit more in details his procedure, i'd be happy.

well
unistall volksampler
move the file volksampler.dll which is located in the pulsar xtc folder in vst plugins to another folder (example in the desctop)
reinstall volksampler from the cd
it should now work

Well, it doesn't work...
Could you explain in detail what to do?
1 - I have the Pulsar3 software installed... And need to use it in Pulsar mode, not XTC mode...
2- I've copyied the volkszampler.dll file on the desktop
3 - I've uninstalled Volkszampler promo copy.
4 - I've reinstalled Volkszampler promo copy
5 - I've tryed Logic, then it was the promo copy... What else? I need the real Volksz, the one installed with Pulsar3, but without the need to launch XTC
6 - Continued testing, since it was maybe my misunderstanding, recopied the dll that i previously remove over the one of the promo copy, same size file, but not same date.
6 - I've tryed Logic again, and an error of asio or something (impossible to launch) appear.
So, for me, the VolksZampler from XTC is an XTC mode (using DSP) STS3000 with a VolksZampler makeup?
How did you manage to get it working? Maybe we're not talking about the same thing here...

Ok, that it, i tough you where able to use the real volkszampler. The promo one annoy me too much with this startup screen and timer... Imagine i have 8 instances, i had to wait for 8 timer! I'll stay with STS3000. Thanks anyway for trying!
C Ya!

wait, wait, wait!
i think that's wolkszampler from xtc is the same device as "normal" wolkszampler and they don't use dsp in any case!?
i think that don't exist any vst-sampler based on pulsar-dsp?!
sorry, i can't help you! i try wolkszampler in cubase and it's works, but i don't use it. specialy don't use promo version (without program pool).
i use sts3000.

Tonite, I had a dream. So I've slept. Or maybe it was a vision. But anyways...
... I noticed there's two different Volkszamplers:
1) The XTC device, to make up for the fact that there's no STS in XTC. The XTC device causes my mouse pointer in cubase to stick to a CW mouse pointer type. It's like it's always looking for something (you know, it fades in/out, blinks, like if there was activity -strange.)
2) The genuine VSTi, which comes on it's own installation cd. It doesn't require any DSP card but uses a serial number as copy protection. It's given away at promo's etc., as a demo for non-CW users to taste some of what we got.

This is one of the MOST annoying xtc bugs (or is it a feature?!) anyway, not only with the Volkszampler, but with every single device running on xtc mode. Would be brilliant to be able to tell the CW cursor to f. off in xtc mode and to let the standard cursor do its job properly.
As to the Volkszampler in xtc mode, I don't believe that it uses dsp resources of the CW card. It is a real vsti running in xtc mode. I suppose that CW made it xtc mode only, because this way the CW card can communicate with the Volkszampler, which they wanted for licensing purposes. A non-xtc mode Volkszampler would not be able to communicate directly with the card and require some other spooky licensing crap.
