So everything was working nicely together, until yesterday when scope "lost communication with board" (even though it is an xite-1)

now i can repeat the problem. start scope, everything is fine.
i can have something playing and hear it, no problem.

then start cubase. it starts fine, then i select my project. as soon as the CC121 and maschine light up, xite 1 stops working. the meters freeze and audio stops. (not a driver crash loop, just silence)
it does not give any message, and cubase does not complain about asio.

I can also cause this to happen by opening and closing "continuum editor" a couple of times. this program communicates with a kenton killamix via usb as well.

it does give a "lost communication" error when i close it though.

so i figure it has something to do with USB, or power, but why would it just stop working suddenly?
the only thing i have changed lately was cc121 firmware update, but that was quite a while ago. it is getting power from a powered hub anyways.

it is an asus P8Z68 Vpro with i7 2600k and 16GB RAM (2x8) win7 x64.

so far i tried putting the maschine in a different USB port, reseated all the cards etc. any other ideas?

32 or 64bit?

it's either a bad hdmi cable, a bad power supply or most likely, a power setting in windows(seen it before).

if it's 32bit, go to the device manager find the XITE, go to properties and uncheck "reset board if idle".

32 or 64bit, go to power settings\change my plan\advanced options\pci(e?)\set power savings to never(it's pretty close to this listing. it'll be a little different, i'm going by memory). in fact, make sure that ALL power saving features are disabled in the windows power settings.

i turned all the power saving stuff off and disabled selective suspend (its 64 bit) right when i installed windows. maybe installing a driver turned it back on, ill have a look.

i just put the card in a different slot, and even though it is now shared with the video card (nvidia 420) IRQ, it is not doing that any more (yet)

since i moved the card it has been running properly as it was before.
no USB power options were on.

I just find it a bit strange that it should suddenly decide to fail when it had been working before.
the only thing i did do which may have caused it, is to install a NI expansion, they have this temporary virtual drive thing to load the installer from an ISO, it installs as a device, so maybe windows shuffled the IRQs around, and did not move them back when it finished.
