Advice on replacing my headphones

My trusty Sennheiser HD570's have just snapped (really - I think it's old age)
I need to replace them with something as comfortable and obviously as good, but I can't afford to sell my wife to buy some!
What would you guys suggest please?
The HD600's look good but one review says they're better for classical than "urban/techno/general electronic music) but they're a bit expensive.
Have prices come down in recent years so that "cheaper" headphones are a good quality?
Must get some soon - it's hard work trying to play/record/mix with one hand holding the headphones to my ear
