XITE-1 + Solaris

Solaris and the XITE-1 are the deadliest combo and if the sound doesn't floor you the weight of the XITE-1 w/ a Laptop, and Solaris is the most portable FAT BASTARDS ever created.
I already have a friend who whines about prices, portability, etc.
I asked him what he would use, and he had no reply.
But when he tried to compare Komplete and his Receptor to the XBox and Solaris, he said I could never afford to use something so expensive.
I then replied:
That's why no one will ever remember your name.
Brad Pitt as Achilles in Troy.
2007 United Artists.

Strength & Honour

This is beyond strength and honor.
There are so many types of synthesis and control I can't flippin' believe the sounds I am getting right out of the box.
The Tube Filter is the most powerful sound I have ever heard, and in all honesty I think I'll be retiring my Analog rack mounts and just use the XBox w/ a laptop for Kontakt, and Solaris.
FWIW. Each part of Solaris is basically a synth. One preset can have 4 parts which can be added, or muted, and each part has it's own Filter, VCA, Envelope, effects, Pan controls,etc.etc.
I never could sweep through wavetables w/o glitches, even though Flexor III COntrol Smoother would work, it greatly reduced the timbre. I can happily say that Solaris has no such shortcomings.
Wavetrip 1-4 make me think I am flying through a wormhole or something.
And that is just using 1 part.......!!

I am way behind in getting this beast ready for the gig.
But let's just use one example of why Analog synths might not be needed at my gigs anymore.
Take a guess at which one is the SE-1, and which one is the mighty Solaris....
Then I would love if someone would play a similar preset from a VSTi.......I promise, I'll never laugh at girly men native synths anymore, and will buy a Receptor for half the price...

Dude it actually dips below 20 and can be felt as well as heard.
The Analog still has a slight edge but it's so slight that nobody but me would notice.
I have used Analog since 1976 and 35 years later can admit that digital can emulate it just fine.
This brings me to believe that Native could achieve this since it too is digital.
But I guess you need a man who actually built and played Analogs.
Maybe the Native developers will become motivated to create something with Balls instead of cute pictures...

Yeah but an instrument like this, when living up to its promises, can kinda render the native vs DSP vs Analog debate redundant, coz it transcends platform boundaries.
DSP just let JB build what he wanted to build.

Here's a comparison of the waveforms, which I never use since I
am an ears only guy. But I am still in shock that little square chips
could replicate something so robust...

I expected that from a JB synth. Shake them with the new might Jimmy!

At the end of the day, the original analog sounds are just generated by voltages, which digital can do without buying all the parts, its just a matter of resolution, which 96khz 21369 have in spades. Wont be long before someone model the random heat/voltage fluctuations of analog components as well ....

Yepp......
I am telling Bowen and Holger that they could sell hundreds of these if they used 2 more LCD's and everytime they used waldorfs there would be pictures of a Wave synth.'
Tube filter would show glowing tubes, tape sat could use 2 spinning reels, etc.
Kids these days buy synths and effects according to the pictures, so give them what they want, and since Native pictures are static, the idea of a pair of LCD's showing reels moving should sell like hotcakes....

well, it's a bit suggestive, but if there's an(other) analog device... LOL ... then it starts playing the short sequence at second 9...

that's another soundprint, quite dense - but the rest is just what I would have expected from you
Solaris IS the Uber-Synth... (and the only keyboard device that really tempts me...)
cheers, Tom

The one after 9 sec Sounds ALOT cooler:)
The settings arent completely the same though..
It would be great to hear the difference between 2 closely matched setups!
Congratulations!!!!!!

To compete with others, Solaris LCD should support at least 4 colour pics, one for each part :

And the 'Perc' skins should all glow as corresponding midi key hit.

well, that screenshot from the Jupiter80 has at least some arcade charme... and some use in the small synth thumbnails.
But the screens when you choose some instrument and they picture (say) a full (screen)size guitar player in 2-bit color were the most dumb-a** stuff 've seen in years by Roland.
They made such cool gear once, but seem to be in serious decay, worse with every year, a pity to watch...
cheers, Tom

Oh Wow Man..............Light the insense, ............Unicorns and Glitter.
Waldorf Wavetaables do not need a Control Smoother on Solaris.
They just wrap around and morph even at lower shape amounts.
