hi,
I think I've installed Scope without any trouble at least 10 times before, but this time I've got this nasty error message

and then

Scope4.0 is installed is on a new ESata drive with fresh WinXp install.
After removing one of the Scope cards, everything works.
Scope installations on other drives are working.
WinXp, Scope + Pulsar2, Asus P5B

imho it's a coincidence of the install and a bad connection of the s/tdm cable (dunno if you opened the PC right before this...)
when removing the card, you had to re-plug the cable and the connection was fine again.
If you put the card back in (maybe cleaning the contacts) and the error remains, even on a different s/tdm connector... then I'd be concerned for the card.
In my case those cables fit really bad (4 to 15 DSP card) and I've seen it a couple of times.

hmm, I've already un- and replugged the stdm cable with no avail.
and, thankfully, installs (4.5 and 5.1) on other partitions are working.
the only differences are
a) it's on a ESata HD (drive letter M)
b) I updated the Intel Chipset drivers.
But cleaning the contacts is always a good idea, will do this later.

Cleaning the contacts is the way, Scope boards are a lot sensible to this issue.
The stange fact is that it seems ever a software problem instead of hardware, but not worry, cleaning is the solution
