STM 2448 Mixer

Hi there,
I've followed the advice of garyb and ditched the big mixer (not that I had much choice....
....it wouldn't load into SFP 5!)
I've hooked up the STM 2448 and as far as I know my SFP project is OK......tho I do have some query on the VU metering.....and as I'm no expert please take it ez.......
The sound of a VSTi is playing thru my speakers (currently MSP5) and I can see the main mix light up both left and right nice n evenly...
Asio source is in 1+2 on the mixer which is panned hard left on 1 and hard right on 2....... In the VU meters on each channel of the mixer there are two vertical columns and on channels 1 and 2 the left hand side lights up as the VSTi is played but the right hand of the VU above the channel fader does not ..... my confusion here - Is this correct and meant to be like this?????
For you experts this should be a doddle...
Thanks in advance.........
