A freind of mine is looking for good/excellent multimedia speakers (not hifi or pro audio).
I don't know anything in this domain (what do i know about logitech and "boose".... )

Anyone here would recommend something really good ? (yeah I prefer to ask to fellow scopers in the first place rather than @#!&# audiophiles or pc users).
may be also a soundcard if you use one, but i guess nowadays, speakers count more than soundcards (due to higher quality of chipsets)... I 'm ignorant in this domain

Thanks a lot in advance.

Mehdi

I have had Klipsch 5.1's forever and they were 99 bucks 5 years ago.
Don't know what they have now, but these were great for testing 5.1 mixes and experimenting.
My kid has them now and the Sub still sounds clear and heavy after 2 years of him beating it up.

Motherboard chipset are usually good....I don't have a 5.1 system, but personally I should look for something having digital input...

Yeah, I've had luck with Klipsch's also.
The cheap 'gamers' style.
Cost me around $120 new.
I also use them with TV because you can always turn down the center channel during football games - gets rid of the endless worthless commentary and makes it sound more like you're at the game.

I'm still using a cheap set I bought in 1995...damn things have outlasted a lot of real music gear. :D Curiously I also think the satellites have much better midrange than a lot of the current products out there.
