just got an email where TC stated that they ceased the future development of the Powercore platform.
well, that's just another competitor that leaves the market...

Make that 2.. SSL Duende is going native right?

Though I do share the sentiment that native is okay for most purposes, and if going native means less friction to purchase, it's a very attractive route for product development. It's a sound business choice, and also makes the technology accessible to many users.

TC makes more money on stomp-boxes now.
At NAMM SSL was touting it's latest mini-console - for friggin $4K!
Ask how many I/O --- 2 SPDIF!

I had a TC Powercore PCI card for a few years and at the time i sold it, the only plugin i used was one of the stock reverbs "Classicverb"
It was a sort of old Lexicon-esque lush artificial reverb. Really nice hall algorithms for dance/electronic music.
I know the selection of reverbs i have for Scope should cover it, but there was just something special about that one.. I'd buy it in native form if it sounded the same and was priced reasonably.
I guess we'll have to see what they do

it wouldn't be as good as a native plugin. i mean, it could be, if you didn't really want to run much else...actually, there's nothing wrong with buying a card just for a product like that which you really enjoy, although there are some damn fine verbs available used, for the price of a powercore card...
