left and right interchanged with analog source?

first of all, excuse me for that -maybe- dumb question and i cant find something in the forum about that, though it should be there if a problem like this exists.
Question:
Is left and right interleaved in the analog source?
I have a Luna with software version 4
Or are some cables the 'wrong' way?
i became so confused about it that im finally not sure if i know how speakers would be decided to be left and right.
I suffer from this problem by recording my vinyls to disk.
So i sometimes compared them to releases on the internet.

thank you very much for answering, spacef!
So i have to check this out with a reference song.
Some possibilities there: in and out, the mixer, the amp...

it's quick;
you must first check the amp by using a scope mixer pan on a mono sound source (for example, but stereo will be fine too, as there is pan on stereo channels of most mixers). you will then determine left and right of the main outputs/wave destinations etc
Then, the turntable outputs.

Thanks a lot for your additional post!
When i first read it, it sounded like a superb advice, just the right one for people like me having some logical issues...
It took me long to get my hands on the music stuff again.
Just checked it the other day.
Then i completly fooled myself.
I moved to another house and when i connected the mixer again, i had in mind that i have had this problem.
So i (>myself !) interchanged them.
Cause in the past i had this problem with every cable (but all from the same manufacturer i guess), so i twisted left and right some weeks ago before testing.
But: This was a new cable, other manufacturer...
So it was exactly what you told me in the first post and your second was excelent too.
Thanks again!
