No Direct Sound Support?

I need to know how to set up a Pulsar 2 board as a Microsoft Direct Sound device because Windows tells me that the card is only ASIO and any program that uses Direct Sound won't work. I have 32bit XP Home and Scope 4.0.

Thanks for the reply, but could you give me a quick step by step guide on how to do this, including how to connect everything in the live bar and set up the IO Enabler? I am not stupid, just confused as hell. :-? . Also, which scope project do i install, home, mix&master, or pro? I use FL studio and only do production. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

first of all:
do you want to use XTC mode or normal scope mode?
-XTC mode will enable you to use scope plugins within your sequencer(FL, reaper, cubase etc) just like any other vst plugin - but you will loose the scope routing window and cant do complex routing.
-Normal mode: you have acces to scope window and complex routing but have no acces to XTC mode.

choose your poison! :)

Here's how my setup runs now. I also included images. Mytek AD clocks Pulsar 2 through SPIDF then goes out SPIDF into Mytek DA. I use Normal Mode with Live Bar running, when playing games or listening to music. I use XTC within FL, but to use XTC I have to exit Live Bar. What I don't understand is that even with included wave modules I still can't use Pulsar 2 as a Direct Sound device. Also, when I use XTC mode plugins inside FL they sound all messed up, like really bad digital distortion.

or your sequencer provides real inserts (how ever it calls in different DAW's) ... than you can mix both modes ..... use scope plugins in your daw in between other vst's and also have nice routings in scope window ....:) only - is that your configured latenz is doubled (one way in one way out)

About the bad sounding xtc plugins: you need to mess with the settings in fl. In reaper (the daw i use) i had to turn "anticipate fx"off.

thanks for that. my main problem is still not being able to use Pulsar 2 as a Direct Sound device even with Wave modules inside. anyone got a clue why this might be?

First off, I see no Wave Dest modules in your screenshots. Fill up your project with either Wave Src/Dest or Wave 24bit Src/Dest modules as set in Device Manager > Scope drivers. Do the same for Seq Midi Src/Dest modules. Then try again.

Exactly.. I Think you should delete your in outs and start again and use the number 1 wave source/ destinations.

WOW, that was really easy. I just reinstalled Scope 4.0 back into Professional Mode and added the modules below. Windows XP still doesn't show a Direct Sound device under Sounds and Audio Devices, BUT I can control the volume via master fader now and all programs that use direct sound work flawlessly. Here's the image of my final setup:
