Hi there,
does anyone has a link or ressources about title on Cds ?

I made an audio CD of my tracks and when played in a computer, it shows Rolling stones as authors (or other weird stuff, such as chinese bands or else).
Apparently depends on what software plays the audio CD and to which database this CD is connected.
I know that this can be corrected when the CD is produced and the CD maker receives official numbers etc for databases, but when you make an audio CD demo, is it controllable ?

So if anyone has info about that, so it doesn't show this kind of info when the audio CD is home-made.

I don't know where to look or what to search, or may be it is not controllable at home level.
Thanks in advance for info.

Mehdi

What burning program are you using? On something like Nero, the page before you burn has spaces for Title and Artist that you can manually fill in.

try http://www.freedb.org/ and send in the correct data. Oh - I forgot...in the USA only CDDB is available. They`ve got the monopoly there.

I use a cheap soft, ashampoo burning studio 8.
I don't think it has a tag option, I will check that.... (edit: checked, it doesn't have any tagging option).
wavelab is currently out of my budget... nero might be an option (i stopped using it when it began to come with software that do this and that and have nothing to do with burning data, but the "'rom" only version might be an option)...
I wanted to avoid entering info myself in databases, just in case it is actually produced one day as a "true cd" (and it is demo cd for labels, so i may make more when new tracks are ready..),
but i will check nevertheless, may be it is harmless and just the right thing to do right now...

Thanks a lot for the suggestions and ideas... i had no idea you could add tags in burning software...
:-)

spacef, on audio cd's the tags are written as cd-text:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-Text
Quite some burning programs support it, look in your manual for "cd text" :)

Thanks Atom for the link.
I wrote to ashampoo and they sent me a link to the update but i doubt it has cd-text... i should probably get back to Nero burning rom as I may burn more cds in the future so i guess it is worth it.
The ashampoo "bs v8" (no pun intended :-) ) is very light and fast... that's the main advantage....
