Hi after my HD failed I reinstalled Scope 4 (downloaded from Sonic-Core). During the installation I used the registry key file sent to me by Sonic-Core. However when I opened Scope for the first time I found that all my synths are missing.
Did I do something wrong in the installationm should I of installed Scope 3 first using the original disks?
Pulsar 2 and luna 2,
Windows XP
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
"Scope 4" being a 380MB download from S|C, I do believe it has all of their devices. Maybe they ended up somewhere else? You could search your disks for Inferno.dev to find the rest...
Otherwise, maybe your cset.ini (in your Scope folder/App/Bin/) may not have the right settings for the device's path? Check for "Devices" under [StaticPath] and make sure it corresponds to the folder containing all devices: mixer/midi/synths/tools/modular/...
[StaticPath]
Devices=D:\Scope5/Devices/
That is the path that makes up the dropdown menu in Scope's Routing Window.
Some people had problems caused by Windows file attributes, where after installation files were set to "read-only". Close Scope, right-click your Scope installation folder from explorer, go to Properties and untick the "read-only" atrribute for the folder, restart Scope.
Weird problem you're having - is there really no synths in the folder? Or maybe you are missing 3rd-party synths, bought from their websites or S|C's, or free ones downloaded from here? If so, these are not in the Scope installer, and need to be downloaded seperately again. The 3rd-party and S|C devices you bought in the S|C shop you can download there, and for free devices the devices section on this forum is a great start - use planetz's search for those.
Hope you get rolling again, soon!

Thanks for the reply.
I tried searching for Inferno.dev as you suggested and found it in folder "\\My Documents\Devices\Synths\Package 2". I'm not sure how they all ended up there?. cset is showing the path Devices = C:/Scope/Devices I guess this is the problem.
Some of the effects seem to be different C:\Scope\Devices\Effects has "Dual Delay s.dev" and "C:\Devices\Effects" has "Dual Delay LS.dev". I'm not sure what the difference is now.
Do you think I should try and merge the two folders or overwrite C:/Scope/Devices with C:\Devices\Effects?
I tried replacing C:\Scope\Devices with the one from My Documents but now I get no default project and when I try loading a synth it asks for registration. I then import my key file and nothing happens. I know the key file is OK as I have used it before and I am registered to use the synths that I'm trying to use.
I've never had this problem usually the installation works fine.

Hey ClipTheApex,
I suggest you reinstall Scope after moving C:\Scope folder aside for later reference - not to force-overwrite whole directories.
C:\Scope\Devices\Effects has "Dual Delay s.dev" and "C:\Devices\Effects" has "Dual Delay LS.dev".
These are different devices, nothing to worry about. AFAIK there's ways to fix your issues manually, but since you have a pretty new installation I don't think it's worth the effort.
