Hi all,
I must be being dim, as I saw Jimmy's previous comment about fixes for Mod IV in the latest beta, but how do I actually install this under 64 bit? I have the SONIC_CORE_MODULAR_4_XITE-1_v4.0.1721_EN.exe file, but running it under Win7 64 bit complains that it can only be run on x86 architecture.
Also, re. the x64_asio files, do I need to run these after installing the beta? I get an error when running SetupDriverScopeXite64.exe from the Scope5.1_Xite directory. "Found Sonic Core XITE-1" "Error: 0x5" "ERROR: InstallDriver returned -2"
Thanks,
Will

Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
There has been an upgrade for Mod IV under Xite? Coolness!
Sorry Will, I can't help you with 64bit.
ooops, it seems I should have watched before writing anything. Sorry, there is no new Mod IV release. V4.0.1721 - dec 2009.

Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
Hey Cheif............
The exe. for Modular IV is no longer necessary.
Just go to your old installation and find Additionals.
Copy all Modular IV stuff over to the Program Files/Scope BETA, there's no need for any x86 stuff anymore.
I did the same thing and got all excited for nothing.
As soon as I copied everything related to Modular IV over to the new x64 folders I was good to go.....
I learned everything the hard way this time, including building a DAW.
W/o GaryBs' valued advice I'd be up SHit Creek w/o a Paddle...

Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
That worked great, thanks Jimmy! A missing dsp error on loading in the Tape Delay (checking whether it was the bug fixed version), but I assume that's an easy one to fix?
Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
Scope needs to be set as Admin by right clicking on the S|C logo in W7 x64.
Otherwise it won't generate the sys. files.
Then try these.
I have my DAW under construction, so these were on a USB stick.
I think they are the right ones.
You'll need to re start Scope after you place the sys. and dev. files in the proper folders.
If not I will try to remeber to download them at rehersal tomorrow..

Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
Jimmy, you rock! Just started Scope as Administrator, opened a Mod IV patch, put Tape Delay in, no probs. Reopened Scope as regular user, all is still well.
Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
I use a Stereo Modular Insert inside of a SpaceF mixer with a pair of Tape Delays each with their own LFO's and FIlters. I have never had such a zipper free MIDI controlled Tape Delay.
This is the reason I want Scope FX instead of the VSTi versions.
VSTi's give you a nice picture and even sound good until you try to pretend its a real effect and start controlling it in real time.
Then it becomes quite apparent that those Dogs Won't Hunt.
But these days that seems to only be important to performers I suppose.
I could always buy the hardware but since Scope actually emulates hardware I prefer a 1u over a 28U rack of heavy gear.

Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
Hmm... since my earlier success, I'm now getting BSODs whenever I add the Tape Delay into a patch of reasonable size. I guess it's not all hunky-dory just yet.
Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
You need to re build your patches and add it as you build.
I tried to drag the new modules into a couple of patches and it was uncool.
I actually would prefer having it in a Modular Insert, or just as am Effect patch in the routing window.
I might have sent you an older version too, I can re send what I have when I get my DAW back at the crib.
I also have the AHD Loop, MultiSeg and GateBurst modules redone.
I love the AHD Loop.
Endless, controllable repeats. Mixed with a Tape Delay it actually sounds like a repitive splice.......Pretty Cool stuff.
Remind me if you don't hear back on this by Sunday, 7 days from now.

Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
Cool, look forward to them. My BSOD was in a newly created patch in a Mod IV shell.
Re: 5.1 Beta + Modular IV
Why Yi Youghtta......
Then you'll need the one off of my DAW that Julian sent me.
I can use as many as I need but as I said earlier I use them as effects for my external synths and ASIO stuff as well as Scope and if it takes a few more days it's worth it.
I am a hardware buff, but when something virtual can emulate the hardware, and then actually bypass it in terms of routing and extra filtering/LFO/ or AHD Looping, it then becomes extremely desirable.
