Well I've been playing with this LX bundle of 4 reverb / delay type of effects seems a damn fine piece of kit. So I'm wanting to do a piece on the SC-Ambience which seems an excellant reverb.

Would appreciate peoples comments on its uses, tips on its parameters etc. and any other usefull info about the LX bundle in general, although the article will be mainly about the reverb which I figure would be the most used (?)

Its a great reverb for percussive instruments or any struck strings, B3 Percussion, etc.
Very controllable reverb with excellent editing options.
I actually find it best where more realistic spaces need to be created.
The Plate sounds nice but Plates are more of an effect than a simulation of a space.
I use the Lexicon PCM70 since my discovery of the excellant Analog I/O's on the XITE-1.
But in a live project the Ambience gels really well with the 70.
Poppy Horn Sections are where I use Ambience the most at my gigs.

Thanks SART - that link is the actual article Also thanks Jimmy I'll weave a bit of your testimonial back into it. Ive also done the article on the RMX160, which I find has the smoothest tail out of many Scope or even my Lexicon hardware unit.

S|C doco is short on many devices introduced with 5.0 unless there is something on the original developer sites - eg DAS.

At least Modular has the excellant cwmodular.org, which is now going to become a very good friend for the next few weeks now that I've shelled for IV ...

Finally its a S-C product,
before it was a DAS product,
in compare test they sounds differetnly.

I have a Lexicon MPX-1, which also sports Lexicon's Ambience algorithm. And the two are really close. Really close. I liked using the Ambience on anything that a model of a larger space would smear the sound too much, but a total dry sound didn't work well in the mix. It can be a very subtle effect if you want it to be. I found it is particularly great on voice work.

Well looks like the original RMX didn't have the EQ section, which was a usefull addition.
