Cdextract team was talking about makes it possible on the next release.
The only solution I know for the moment is to use the Halion VST sampler in Logic wich is able to import giga files. It takes a lot of time, but it's a solution. It's a 250$ solution...

"Out of Respect for Nemisys".... So they don't respect the other companies? This is so ridiclous! I am surprized they would even confess their true love and adoration for the Nemesys corporation in such a public way.

giga plays note on, note off, crossfade samples, resonance....
i try convert nemesys giga piano, rhodes and upright bass to hallion (wav) format, but they can't play like giga.
halion play only note on and note off! this is not same & rich sound with resonance like with giga!
halion can play corectly only "simple samples" from giga!
so, i don't see sence to convert gigas format to any other.... by now.

You can't convert Giga to AKAI... Even if you could, your AKAI sampler would choke on the size of (most) GS samples...

.... because giga plays directly from disk - not from memory....

Giga-sample has better performance because:
Giga samples have about up to 32 layers like giga-piano has about 16 layers stereo samples; but akai-S1000 or STS only can handles up to 4 layer mono-samples. There are a lot of works for customizing between Giga and STS conversion like filters, vilocity, soft pedal, etc.
Here is an idea giga-on-A-STS song:

Enjoy it,

Actually I only think Gigapiano has 6 layers - 3 pedal up, 3 pedal down. Like the Steinway B. Bosendorfer has 8 - or is it the other way around? I know somebody were working on a 16-layer piano but ran into some 2gb instrument limit which I am not sure has been resolved.

yep, another one of these limits. That's why our developers for 3D use Linux. No hassle then to display a parachute-jump (hope they'll make it soon with the projection to floor+ceiling, that'll end up VERY realistic then).
Happy pulsaring
