or is it normal?

:-?

are you using adaptors? how are you making such a comparison? into what?

You're not putting +4V sources (XLR/TRS) into -10V ports (RCA), I hope?

simply in routing window...

the pulsar2 anolog source(rca) is louder than the scope pro analog source (xlr)

i noticed this having the RCAs connected to my mixers RCA in/outs
at first i thought that the mixer was giving more gain at the rca ios... but
the same happens connecting to other outs...RCAs with TS adaptors.... not TRS.

i tested once again...and on the mixer(stm4896) it shows exactly 10.0 db difference at all levels. :-? :-? :-?

might be a scope 5 bug?

maybe a scope analog source.mdl setting? which needs edit on an "SDK"????

actually .mdl is for software IOs

Hardware IOs are .io
in fact in my folder SCOPE PCI/App/Application/IOs/Hardware... i have Pulsar Analog Source Dest.io, BUT ther is no Scope Analog Source or Dest!!!

i tested swiching some cables but the result is the same. 10.0 db less in scopes XLRs than pulsar RCAs

is there something wrong with the inputs of the cards? or is it a common issue that can be edited somewere?

The xlr inputs are +4 the rca are -10. What is the source output?

if you're connecting a -20db consumer output into a +4 pro input, you're damn right the level will be lower than a -20 output into a -20 input! if -20 is the referenced zero point, the -20 input will show 0, while the +4 will be some 20db below 0.

no bug, no problem.

samson mixer mdr1248

Main Mix Section
Noise (Bus noise) Levels full down: -100dBr (ref.:+4dBu)
Level set to 0 dB: -90dBr (ref.:+4dBu)
Max output +28dBu balanced XLR,
+22dBu impedance balanced, 1/4" jack

actually i connect the xlr main mix out of the mixer to scopes xlr in.

how are you comparing the rca ins?

a +4 output into a -20 input will be hot, hot, hot!

main mixer out(1/4") with "TS" adaptors or mixers rca outputs into pulsars 2 rca ins

You mismatch output-Input levels. Its not a bug.Try to read about it on wiki.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line_level

It is your mixer bugged or "featured" ;) that does provide the same level both on xlr outputs and rca, it should not!

if the 1/4" out is trs, then even if you use ts, it could still be +4. you'll notice that there's only a 6dbu difference in the MAX level output between xlr balanced and the trs balanced outputs(according to the specs you provided). the 1/4" output appears to also be +4.

anyway, as you see in the spec, there is a voltage that is the referenced 0db. that reference level may be the same or different, relative to the other output, or the card's input(either card). THERE IS NO MANDATED STANDARD. that's the reason for trim controls, originally.
