Hoi,

As in the subject... I have 2 cards, of which one is an SRB and the other one has Z-link daughterboard. Last year my Luna2496 died, and now I'm looking for extra IO, in particular ADAT ports.

Maybe some kind soul handing his card back to S|C can sell his daughterboard and get a little extra refund for Xite? :>

Hoping to hear from you soon :D

Hi at0m,

I have a 24 ADAT daughterboard on my Pulsar 2, which I never use any of the IO on. I'm getting another Pulsar 2 classic next week, so I doubt I'm going to need it on an ongoing basis. Only caveat is that I've never used any of the IO on the card (it was a good secondhand deal and I wanted the DSPs), so can't guarantee it 100%, but it's pretty likely to be working. I do have the midi breakout cable, but again, I'm not 100% whether it works, as I just use the midi on my Luna card.

Anyway, let me know if you're interested and how much you would consider paying (either euros or pounds).

Thanks,
Will

Cheers Will,

I'll give it another week or so, before making my mind up. Does the 24 ADAT IO daughterboard have room for a snake for MIDI, cinch S/P-DIF etc? Didn't know that... thought it was full with ADAT. Would you mind checking what's the exact IO options on that snake? S|C's site seems to be in the dark over these boards, here's a pic I found on their site with ADAT board.

Thanks again!
at0m.

Hi at0m,

Turns out I was confused :) . I do have a midi connector snake, with 6 connectors on it, but it must have been from an older card that I've since sold, as there's definitely nowhere for it to go on the 24 ADAT daughterboard! It's exactly as in that picture, i.e. 6 optical ports and nothing else.

Are you based in the US, as my girlfriend's mum is on her way out there later this week, in case you do decide you're interested? Might save a bit on postage and tax.

Cheers,
Will

I live in Belgium, so no need to worry about the shipping/taxes/.. from the U.K. - thanks for asking! :)

Just an FYI - the ADAT24 i/o option has an extra PCI bracket which has the connector for the MIDI snake (which is 2x in/out/thru I think). The bracket connects to the i/o board with a ribbon cable/multi-pin connector. It's a pretty good design as the heavy snake doesn't weigh down on the i/o board so it doesn't 'pull' the i/o board away from the PCI card (something which is fairly common with the classic/plus i/o). The only things that connect to the i/o board are 3x adat i/o which are very lightweight in comparison.

Hmm... maybe I need to rummage around in my cable drawers, it's possible that's lying around somewhere then!

Hey Will,

Do you happen to have come across the snake?

Hi at0m,

I do have the snake itself, which has a connector like a parallel cable at one end and 6 midi connectors at the other. Unfortunately I've not been able to find the part that attaches to the Pulsar card and mounts on the back of the PC yet. I'll have another look for it either tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks,
Will

Sorry, I've had another hunt around and no joy. I'll contact Sonic Core and ask whether they sell them as spares.

Thanks,
Will

Maybe it'll just pop out of your spares box somewhere :D Thanks for checking, w_ellis!

Does anyone know weither a Luna's ADAT expansion board can be hooked up to a Scope or Pulsar2? I've been offered such a card, but I don't know weither it would fit the board...

Doh, could have been :) Thanks for your swift reply, garyb!

Well then, the quest is still open for an IO board :)
