I've changed a cable & then "Hardware version 16 detected"?!

Please help me with this

I've change a cable for the microphone, and BAM! creamware gave me some weird Protection messages and since then the program stopped working...

I tried to restart windows and it give me message "installation error - "Hardware version 16 detected".... (it also said hardware ver 30 detected before..)

:(

what to do ?
anyone else suffered from this ?

I've fixed it by unpluggin and repluggin the sound card from the motherboard, and when I entered that mic cable I got the annoying protection error again..

shame on you creamware...this protection shit suckz

Soulds like static discharge.Btw.Creamware is dead for years.Everything grounded properly?

What's the mic connected to (ie. preamp) before it enters Scope and how does it enter Scope (digitally, RCA jacks, XLR?)?

Sound card PL-> XRL Preamp (this one) XLR -> XLRShure58

Make sure the phantom powering is off. Do you have the original ART power supply? Make sure it's the right type. As stated above i would check your earthing rather than blame the Scope card straight away.

P.S. The signal flow is actually this:
SM58>Preamp>Scope

As it is a mono preamp do not use a splitter cable.
