It happens often that I have an idea in my head at the precise moment when I don't have a computer or a guitar nearby (the train or the street for example)
in those cases, I use the sound recorder of my phone, and sing the melody... but laer, when I remember I recorded that I struggle to remember about how I thought it might sound or how was the rhytm...
This app might be very valuable for quickly mocking up a song from an idea..
now I only need to transplant an iphone soul into the body of my iphone touch

NAMM this year had i-phone keyboards and little applets all over the place.
Omnisphere preset changes via wireless from your iphone.
This is one trend that will only get worse.
Of course, about 10 years from now these little devices will be pretty powerful, so....
...oh never mind...

It's for people who can't play a keyboard I guess. Those apps are cheap and it should do well.

The "Cubase iC - Remote Control Application for iPhone and iPod touch" is real handy. I wish Samplitude had this function

It could probably be adopted.
Somebody got the Pok to work with Samplitude, so I figure it's possible.

There were a lot of iphony little applets at NAMM - including a new iphone wireless controller applet for Omnisphere used for sending preset changes in live performance situations.

The screen is too small. That would be really annoying to use.

That's ultra-geeky.
Now, if you can run it remotely while on vacation somewhere, then that would be cool.

you ever used an iPhone, Brain ? heard about 'mouse gestures' ?

in fact you really
can use that thingy, because it's very precise.
It's easy to navigate and then zoom in by 2-finger drag.
Greg, I used a WLAN connection and would have liked to try the cell phone path, too.
Unfortunately I live too close to a hillside in a transmission shadow...
But the app doing this (
Jaadu RDP) is used the way you suggest to remote control server systems.
It installed absolutely flawless.
cheers, Tom
