Scope ASIO Latency Setting and Sync in Ableton Live 8.1

I have been unable to find the solutions to the following issues by reading the manual and searching this forum.
Issue #1
I have the latest Scope version installed and running in VSTIM/XTC mode in Ableton Live 8.1.
Everytime I open Live, I have to lower the latency.
Is there a way to force the Scope ASIO driver to open at a specified latency?
Issue #2
How can I sync Scope synths and effects with Live's BPM?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi.
Concerning your first question:
You have to edit your cset.ini (you can find it in your Scope folder /App/bin/ - maybe back it up first).
Once you opened it with the editor you´ll have to add " intBlkSize=64 " below the entries in topic " [XTC-Config] ".
Save it (as cset.ini not as cset.txt) and you´ll be running XTC with the lowest ULLI-setting. When you have dropouts, increase the bulk-size to 128 or maybe more.
The setting you are applying in live are non-permanent.
Good luck!

Lives sync output is not very good, and they cant be bothered to fix it. as soo ans live starts having to do any work it decides the midi sync clock is not that important and it loses some time.
anyways just set it up in the MIDI control panel to output midi clock to the scope driver.

luigicampala:
Thanks for the helpful info. Well, I modified the cset.ini file, as described above. That makes perfect sense. However, Live still opens with high latency.
Does anyone know why Scope XTC mode would fail to read the cset.ini file properly in this regard?
Neutron:
I hear you about Live's sync issues. I have never experienced great success with syncing Live's BPM externally (except through Rewire).
But, if I understand you correctly, Scope plugins in VSTIM/XTC mode don't automatically sync to BPM like most other VST plugins do? In other words, BPM sync has to be set up first in the XTCproject.pro project and with Live's MIDI OUT feature?

make sure to put the entry below the other entries in the " [XTC-Config] " section.
I did it like that and Live is working perfectly and with very low latency.
maybe it´s good to check the cset.ini once more...
and maybe once more the advanced dialogue in the live - audio - asio preferences.
