This forum isn't letting me enter more than two or three average sized paragraphs of text. Is that a known bug or am I missing something? in my case, it's in regards to a response to another thread - if I use the "quote" feature where I want to respond to a previous thread. I can't enter more than a couple of paragraphs of response. Strange but not life threatening

VERY strange announcement

How about the problem solving area and / or PMing Mr Cooper?

Like I said, this isn't life threatening. It's not even worth following up on. I was just curious if this was a known bug or something amiss on my end (can't imagine what it would be since I don't have problems like it on other forums). I don't normally leave longish messages on any forum and I don't comment here often enough to warrant a lot of nonsense about it. Any other issues or workarounds seem like much to do about nothing. I have this problem and the bug has been mentioned here before.

It doesn't occur when you are cutting and pasting text in chunks. It only occurs when typing and the text box is filled up, then the cursor will not move and the newline (return) function appears not work, although I have found that all the text has actualy typed fine even though it doesn't appear that way.

I now type long text entries into notepad and copy and paste it across but generally I use the bug as a feature to prevent me from becoming verbose.

A previous response to this issue has been to use a browser other than Microsofts. I don't know if this works.

Another alternative is to type your text from the end to the begining as this acts like inserting text and doesn't fall foul of the bug but this isn't a practical solution.

Funny, I'm in the habit of typing out longer responses in Textpad (notepad replacement I use on Win) or TextWrangler (similar editor on OSX) because I hate it when you inadvertently navigate away from a page and lose it all (FF is a bit better these days but it till happens) or often because I have a hard time formatting it both for viewers and to be able to make sense of it in the tiny textboxes many forums offer by default. Yeah, I understand - I do the same when I'm posting comments on youtube because it has a habit of denying comments for unknown/unstated reasons (and after denying the comment, you can't get your text back!) I haven't had any issues like that with phpBB (on planetz) though.
