Hi to all,
yesterday of my 3 DSP cards starts to create serious problems:
- first times the 2 cards becomes unrecognizable from system
Then:
- random fail to start bios at boot up (in one PC)
- blue screen and windows XP boot sector definitive corruption (in another PC, as a try)

Any similar experience?
Any solution or definitive test?
It seems that both dead... :(

The third works only alone, with the others 2 don't works.

Thanks in advance.

Yes I have several cards and PCs with Scope or Xite, but this PC was our mastering DAW in control room...

I had to send my 14 dsp card in for repair(needed new serial number burned in) and it was 110€.You should try the cards in a different pc and first look on them and check if the i-o plate is loose or any components that look broke.S-c will repair them i guess.Wont be cheap tho.....

Here is an example how a bad card may looks. 14 dsp card from a mate,it still works but not very stable.

The above is why you should put a fan on those 15-DSP cards, probably the smaller ones could use it as well. If your box doesn't have it already, it's a simple matter to cut a hole in the case lid, then mount a slim & quiet fan. You don't need to move a lot of air, but the cards really do need *some* extra air flow if you want to keep them forever.

Overheating wasnt the cause in the above pic.I would guess on shortage or component failure. The "splat" on the part took a few amps for sure. :D Works as a 13 dsp card tho.....

Most component failures that are not due to shorts, surges or physical trauma or can be traced back to overheating in one form or another. Keep your Scope cards cool.

I've tryed, and in another PC it corrupts WinXP filesystem (at boot makes blue screen) and features strange bios behaviour (BIOS says that I've changed CPU!!! :o )

So I think the both board are serous broken... :(

Thanks for the info.
Maybe I will ask to S|C if worth a repair... the annoyng thing is that some plugins are registred inside these cards, so how I can transfer all to another?!?!?!? :-?

buy the multiple plugin transfer service and transfer all necessary licenses to a different card.

Instead of paying a fee for one plugin, you just pay a fee for all the plugins you want transferred.
Send them an email with the request to transfer all plugins you want (with the old key file & serial of final board).
