is it possible to assign midi controllers to the control room input switches? If yes which kind of controller program change, cc, etc.?

yeah, i think you can(but i didn't check, you can just try it by right-clicking on the button). with most switches and buttons 0-127 cc values are used. on=127, off=0(or vice versa) and the numbers in between are meaningless.
