I really need to get this SFP4.5 software completely off my system.

The hardware isn't installed and I used the XP "System Configuration Utility" to diable startup of the app.

Now, the uninstller won't run.

How do I get this stuff off my system?

trash the folder.
disable the Scope entry in the startup menu using start/run/msconfig.
the registry keys are not really a problem.

Actually, leaving the residue seems to leave scope around in many audio apps aa an ASIO driver choice despite it's program directory being deleted. Wndows still sees its driver files?

hmm, is v5 still on the computer?
is the card still in the computer?

the driver and the Scope program are two different things. it's possible to have the driver installed without the program, if the card's in the computer. if there's a registry entry for the asio driver that the sequencer or other app is seeing, it's possible to manually remove the entry, but it's not a job to be done without some competence. also, it really shouldn't hurt anything to have the asioscope driver listed in the audio options of your app.

...but if it's really bugging you, here is how to remove or disable the driver:

1. Get the Device Manager dialog. One way to do that is to open My Computer, right click on the background, select Properties. This will give you the System Properties dialog. Click on the Hardware tab, then the Device Manager button. You can also get System Properties from Settings/Control Panel (it's called "System" there).

2. From the Device Manager dialog, open "Sound, video and game controllers."

3. There will be a list of your audio drivers, including a Scope or Creamware (depending on the version) for each card and each software you installed.

4. Right click on each, and select "Disable" or "Uninstall." Generally speaking, I would "Disable" if I'm switching from one Scope version to another, it's an easy way to maintain multiple versions that otherwise conflict. But if I'm going to reinstall, I'd go ahead and "Uninstall," especially if the hardware has been pulled. That way when you reinstall you are assured of getting the correct driver for the installation.
