Installing over Scope 4.5

When I installed 4.5 it kept my Scope 4 directory separate and I am still able to run it (though I have no need to). Can I install Scope 5 into a separate directory to and still run Scope 4.5 when I need to?

no, because 4.5 and 5.0 use a different driver. in fact, you CAN leave the 4.5 folder intact, but you should rename it to avoid program errors...

If you have XITE-1, you can run XITE-1 with SCOPE 5.0 and the "old" cards with 4.5 even parallel.
If you have no XITE-1 you can run 5.0 or 4.5 but you have to change the drivers everytime you switch.
You can install both software parallel.

OK - I'm a bit reluctant to let go of 4.5 thats all - it works so well for me. I suppose the real question is do I need 5? I have most of the plugins including the Timeworks ones and VDAT etc.

You do not need 5.0 so far.
I have XITE-1 but my projects are in Cubase 5 in XTC-Mode in SCOPE 4.5 and it works fine with my old cards.
XITE-1 is my second leg now and I wait for the first update of SCOPE 5.0 and the official release of XTC - hopefully A.S.A.P. - O.K. after the summer holidays

to begin new with the XITE system and CUBASE in XTC-Mode.

Thanks - yeah I might as well just hold off then, at least the official release is not out yet anyway.
Is there a list of what is new in Scope 5 compared to 4.5 somewhere? (any plugins or features I would miss?)

there are a number of new plugins, but really the whole program has been rewritten. functionally, it's pretty much the same as always, but i is better. if you DO use 5.0 right now, be advised that what's currently available is the release candidate, not the final version.

Yeah I'm aware of that thanks. Although it sounds more like what I would call a late beta really - I work on many software beta programmes and in my experience a "release candidate" should be the finished application that has been sent out for final testing to see if there are any showstoppers. If there are still changes to be made other than in response to late found bugs it is not a "release candidate".
