1U ATX Solutions

I really like the Mini-ITX and Micro ATX AMD boards because of the no wasted space, but also the 128MB Sideport RAM feature.
It is a great way to avoid buying a PCI-e 16X graphics card, which is the only reason I have the 4U ATX chassis' anyways.
The downside of the small form factors is that they are saddled w/ DDR2 1066, even though they claim DDR2-1333, I am finding that even w/ Intel i7's and AMD boards, when all 4 or 6 DIMM's are populated, if it says DDR3-1600 support, it means DDR3-1333 will work with populated DIMM's.
But ATX boards using the AMD 785G usually have fast DDR3-1666, but no Sideport RAM.
Asus happens to fill this gap nicely, and low latency DDR3-1333 will work fine and maximize the streaming of sampled content.
The new AMD X4 965 Black Edition CPU has quad cores running @ 3.4GHz w/ 8MB's of cache.
Plenty of power for a streamer.
The 1U case below is perfect for cooling.
CPU ventilation, and mobo sidefans, HDD fans and RAM w/ a self contained 1U fan design should keep everything cool and stable. The RAM below is actually the i7 version and too tall for a 1U, the AMD version is only for 4 x DIMM's and a little shorter.
The PCI-e 1X Riser Card rounds out the parts needed.
Total cost is 780 USD for XITE-1 to have another 1U buddy.
