Here is a song called 'Too Many Love Songs' from a Rock Musical I'm writing. The point in the plot is as follows : Lead character is a song writer in a band, his girlfriend ( lead singer of the band ) leaves so in depression he stops writing until his old teacher comes and kicks him up the arse to get on with life, as he has wasted too much time writing love songs for her when so much more to accomplish.
Gear / Plugs used on 12 DSP setup :
1) Dynatube for electric guitar (squire strat)
2) Tubetaper on whole mix out of STM2448
3) Outboard : TC Electronics Multi Band Compressor
4) Reason combinators for Strings and Organ
5) Reason combinators for Drum Samples ( Alan White / Heavy Hitters )
6) PLG150DX ( DX 7 - tubular bell Expansion)
7) Lead Vocal is me, a guide vocal till I get a singer.
8 ) Yamaha Bass

Excellent.
It reminds me of some of the big Broadway Rock Operas.
Well developed and very commercial. Some people are anti commercial, but at the end of the day large productions involve video, dancing and other equally important elements.
Plus I totally agree and often wanted to publicly stone the band Air Supply.....
" I Can't Live Wothout You "...........pahleez.........
They should have been a category on the game show Jeopardy......
Whining Love Songs From The '70's For 200 Dollars Please.............................Who was Air Supply.......Yes, that's correct.
Nice Job Dante...

Thanks for the positive feedback XITE/4-Live.
Problem Ive had with many of my originals is people say its too retro to break into todays top 40. So I figured the Broadway Rock Musical approach might be the way to go since most of that is retro anyway ( Mamma Mia, Queen We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys ( gotta see this one ) etc etc... )
I haven't seen many Broadway adaptions of more contemporary artists eg Smashing Pumpkins, Lady Gaga, black eyed peas, Britanny Spears etc...

Personally, I thought it had a good hook...and verse melody. Being an 80's guy, It reminded me of some other material from that era...all in all...still pretty cool in my book...especially playing guitar, bass, and vocals to boot. I can't write a melody to save my life (I'm a drummer/programmer...and can sing a bit too)...ya got me beat by a mile.....

I have updated this mp3, replacing my rompler Organ with a modelled version by Selig.
