hmm, in my opinion i should start with 6 dsp's :)

i remember the times with 3 dsp, i know it's never enough, but 3 dsp is hard to start with ,
especally when you see all that nice plugins

I started with a 3 dsp card back in 2002. well, after 3 days i decided to upgrade with an additional 6 dsp card. and after a year of working, i already had 2 15 dsp cards :o

Ha - that sounds pretty much like me too. I bought that Luna card and pair of 24/96 boxes and within a few weeks realized the mistake. Pulsar was next but I outgrew that within a short while too. I think I've had one of everything Creamware ever made including the original tripleDAT. Frankly, those 3 DSP cards are virtually worthless as far as I'm concerned. I don't understand why they even bothered with that. All they did was whet your appetite for the larger boards. Scope envy or something like that

Well, they are pretty good value as a simple I/O card in combination with the Luna box. There's not that many solutions that give you 8 analog I/O (actually 9 with the jack i/o on the card itself) for the price of a (2nd hand) Luna/Luna box combo.

Just don't try and run any synths on it :)

I think the LUNA card was creamwares best ever marketing device. Yet here post after post slams C/W now S/C on bad marketing. But I put it to you that LUNA was the greatest advertisment for the company ever.
I mean how many people bought one only to end up with huge DSP systems.

I know thats what got me hooked, I was just looking for a DSP board to lower overhead on my computer when mixing. I chose to get a luna instead of UAD or whatever. Next thing, like everyone that got a luna I want more.
Im now waitng for my XITE.

Now thats marketing.

So f... true! Same experience than most of all I guess, it began with a Luna II in 2002/2003.
Then I had quite some déboires with a 2nd-hand pulsar II bought in 2004 but burnt "with my own two hands".
Now everything is sorted out... Till I have enough cash to buy me a XITE :D

If someone wanna try SCOPE 5 RC in XTC mode try that workaround :

http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php ... 11#p247311

It works!

I love the new UI in v5, auto routing MIDI & audio to mixers, etc etc...not to mention the devs, FX, EQs & mixers. There are a few minor, and I say MINOR bugs...anyone sitting on the fence for 198 Euro...(for those using 4.0 or 3.1c) make the leap. It is more than worth EVERY CENT!

v5 RC will mature to become the staple, and stable platform for all S|C users! If you have not downloaded your copy yet...get it...I'm very glad I did. Even though I only have a 6 DSP card (and my XITE is on order), just having the time to work with the newest S|C release, will only make the upgrade even that much less troublesome. When it arrives, I will be ready to swim from day one!

Thank You Sonic Core, Holger, Ralf and the rest of the team! well done & good job!

Hi all !
I´m just wondering if somone knows when we can expect the
XTC-mode to be released.
I have tried the workaround from "kwild" but the plugins just don´t appear.
-I must do something wrong :-?

Ha - well, I was wondering the same thing (in a different way). I'm wondering how often these "release candidates" will be offered up and when we might finally see a formal "this is it, this is the one" release? I don't have a problem with V5 per se, but it's a little ragged around the edges yet. I would prefer to wait for something a little more polished. V4.5 actually runs pretty much OK for me personally. I think I even prefer the color scheme in 4.5.

geez, nobody's ever satisfied so it seems :D

So far here, I like it's performance, it's stability, and I actually prefer the 'Cleveland Brown' look (from a distance on multiple monitors).

well, you can still buy it, can't you ?
after all the 4.5 package (that qualifies for update) wasn't free of charge either ;)

I've paid about 250 Euro for 2 of the reverbs alone that are now included - and still consider that bargain.
It's in the same league as world-class hardware... there are numerous comments about the exceptional quality of those devices... and Scope 5 includes even more

cheers, Tom

Well, nothing serious there :)
I got clarification from S-C
If somebody want to use it, he have to purchase the upgrade.
If somebody have a scope4.5 lizense already, than scope 5.0 is for free.

please send your actually Scope 4.5 keyfile to : register@soniccore.de
