In a clearly transparent ploy to divert attention away from the bloodbath in the Prop-Head Thread I bring news of Intel's latest skullduggery and dirty dealings.

When you buy a car or video card sometimes they give money "a rebate" for choosing their product over the competition.

it's ok for consumer, they can choose to accept or not and get rebates somewhere else and make competition work using rebates ("your competitor give me x% rebate, and you ?")
The case is about a manufacturer paying resellers and integrators to not use any competitive product, in an area where exclusivity is not justified.
Like if a big audio company paid resellers/shop to not sell competitor's products and thus forbidding access to market to those competitiors.

Or if Delphi gave General Motors kickbacks, for only using Delphi wiring harnesses, not Johnson Controls

So we focus on the engineering & business aspects of the business somewhat independantly. Or if you prefer to lump them together, AMD's products may not hold the crown but are at least more consistent these days...(same can't be said for the small tier mobo makers for either platform).

The AMD failure rate in the last 5 years, has declined... Intel still holds their own..primarily..in business apps.

If they were going to give the money to AMD or something then it might mean something. no they are just going to steal it. like government does best. legalized government organized crime makes mobsters look like rookies.

They were probably pissed off that the kickbacks were not going to them.

Exactamente..............

Lucky Luciano was once asked about how he managed to go from the Leader of the Syndicate to making deals with Uncle Sam when they invaded Sicily, he said it's easy, they are the biggest Organized Crime Syndicate in the world................

Intel is ALL about selling CPU's.
Their $2BIL dollar wireless debacle boondoggle, ended up being a loss-gain subsidizing wireless chips in laptops in order to sell more CPU's.

CRAZY company.
