game theory and community development

just got back from a trip to tokyo. Had a couple of great meetings with my buddies. One was about creating an organization to help better the world through community development and generally creating a stronger bond between people through increased trust and cooperation. I don't know what that entails, how it'll be done, etc, we just decided that it had to happen and that someone had to do it. But that's 3 years from now. We have 3 years to plan stuff, talk to government figures, figure out money flow, etc.
Is there anyone here who's specifically into this sort of stuff? It's really not just a volunteer thing. It roots from application of game theory to social sciences, and the crazy discipline of community development. Within community development, we want to work specifically with rural communities, tourism, and sustainable education (of those running rural tourism).
But anyway, I'm on the lookout for any recommended readings, people I should talk to, etc. I knew I sort of had this in me for a while, but this time, for one reason or the other, it all clicked and lead to actual "action".
