Thanks again for this great forum

I just recently bought a Luna II card and since I got a rather new PC I expected a stunning performance

I use Cubase 5.0 VST/32 and when I have recorded 8 stereo tracks. The cubase harddrive performance meter goes up to 70-80%. Maybe this is normal but on another recording system using a Yamaha DSP card the performance meter stays stable at about 10-20%.

I have tried ASIO and ASIO2 both in 16 and 24 bit. I have also tried to record to 2 different harddrives.

Maybe this is the performance I should expect or something is wrong.

I have a Dell Dimension P4, 1.3 GHz, 384 MB Ram, A SBLive card, GeForce 2 MX, and 2 IBM harddrives.

Any input on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Cheers and thanks again

**Sorry forgot to mention that I'm using Windows Me**

Sounds like you're using the Intel ATA drivers. They eat CPU for lunch. Use the Microsoft drivers instead, the problem will vanish.

Thanks Subhuman

I read your answer in another post about the Intel Ultra ATA drivers. I tried to install a new driver or update (Win Me on Dells installation cd) but it could not find it, I tried with the win98 cd but nothing there either. The only thing it found was "Standard Controller unit for Dual PCI IDE" (mshdc.inf)

Anybody knows where to get a better driver?
