Everyone who is running Pulsar2 on windows 200 / win2000 PRO please help me
I just downloaded the package from cremware (the 2.04k WIN2K beta), and tried to install it... of course it tells me "install the driver first"
so I tried to install the driver... I went int he control panel, install hardware, new device, have disk...
The driver is selected, and loaded.. and them BOOM: blue screen (handle error something.. too fast to read) and then the machine restarted
I tried twice.. no success

I'd appreciate your help! thanks in advance
it was working fine with Win98SE but I had to upgrade

are you sure that w2k installs itself in the 'standard-pc' mode, instead of 'ACPI' mode?
you´ve got to hold down a specific key at a specific time during install, but don´t ask my poor self

i got it working without that trick.
when pressing that key i think you get a expanded boot/install menu, so you can choose 'standard-pc', and then it should work.
maybe you tell us about your system? what chipset, hardware devices, etc.
and check the hardware compatibility list named hcl.txt, contained on your w2k-cd. maybe some other hardware is making trouble?
have fun, everything will be allright...

thanks for the post
my machine: 100% intel (thanks, I just had a hell of a eyar with a stupid AMD machine hehe) Pentium III 1Ghz + Intel D815EEA2 motherboard.
I think I am in ACPI mode.. any way I could change the mode? isn't it a bit "walking backwards" to turn off the ACPI?

Not really, you risk an unstable PC if every part(driver) isn't 100% ACPI compatible. Almost all Audio Optimization guides I've read for Win2k say to use Standard PC for optimum performance. The reason is ACPI forces everything to share one single IRQ, which isnt optimal for realtime use like audio (but it's probably easier to configure and fine for most Office users)

When you install Windows2000, it will ask for SCSI Device F6. Instead, press F7, and your machine will be installed as Standard PC. (Pressing F5 will give you a list of the available options).
