Found on another website:-
CNVA News, 01/04/09 wrote:Incredibly, the manufacturer Digidesign have gone bust. Their website is still up, but the company is unmistakably down.

In a heartfelt interview with CNVA news, one ex-employee working for the former audio manufacturer said 30 mins ago "I've given my life to this company & I feel betrayed". Another former employee said "Those bastards are just cashing in their chips! They know the credit crunch is hitting the whole world, especially Europe & they're getting out now while they still have 3 million euro houses to party in, it's a disgrace". A third commenter said "I'm going home jobless & I couldn't care less. I've stolen enough gear from them in the past 5 years to equate to a year or two's salary, so I'm a happy bunny at the end of the day?"

Digidesign have apparently refused to comment, as they are expected to put on a brave face & have representatives attending an exhibition later today, despite the fact that they no longer exist as a company.

One door opens as another one closes.
Perhaps Soniccore will be a migratory path for plug makers now...........hmmm.. :-?
Quality plugs if marketed correctly can cover the salaries of programmers long after a product is released.
ProTools was a great product for a long time. Their incredibly high prices were only sustainable for so many years, if they only would have released their SDK...

Just a quick word before this gets 'out of hand' or 'below the the belt'.

I think this was perhaps just a bad April fools joke. Shame on the person who thought of it in the first place.

well, there was "the biggest 'music-making' product of the show", announced by novation...
it will be revealed 11:45 GMT +1 (that's CET), according to KVR, but I think that will be delayed for an hour since we're on CEST for 3 days now :D

-greetings, markus-

I think there will be loads of fantastic new products. Didn't Moog once do an online software pedal - doing Russian radio - or something like that. :D

Well isn't that a division of avid? It would take more than the actual crisis to pull 'em down.

It's fairly well-known that Digidesign laid off a lot of staff because they are running things more as a centralised operation from Avid. So that quote may not be totally fake.
