looking for an easy way to check all used CC's in project
looking for an easy way to check all used CC's in project
Is there a way of finding all cc's used across different devices? The only way I know at the moment is to manually open each device's midi ctrl assignment and check what is used/not used, then on to the next device. Would be great if there was a way to find out which cc's are open to use.
Re: looking for an easy way to check all used CC's in project
I wish.....
I have a Notepad for each project that shows the assignments.
Scope doesn't remember half of them, so I just write them all down.
Once there are re assigned though they work great until another project gets loaded.

I also notice you cant assign the same MIDI contoller number to more than one control. That's in Modular 2 anyway.
I guess you just cross-map/remap it in a MIDI processor and send the duplicate control messages on a different controller number - messy.
Eric.

They are confusing at first but here's an example.
Re: looking for an easy way to check all used CC's in project
if you merge everythings midi output and then put a midi monitor on the merged output, it might show them when you reopen the project.
i never tried it though. the reason i think it might is because when i open a project all the pot positions are sent to bcr2000

That's a very good idea! I was thinking of ways to somehow trigger devices to spit out the information but you may well be right about the midi output at project load. Will report back!Neutron wrote:if you merge everythings midi output and then put a midi monitor on the merged output, it might show them when you reopen the project.

BRILLIANT IT WORKED!
So after the project has loaded I can disconnect the midi outs and merger and keep the midi monitor open as a reference to all currently used cc's.

Re: looking for an easy way to check all used CC's in project
Ok spoke too soon on deleting the connections and merger. On reload the monitor is empty which must have something to do with temporary buffers being cleared. Oh well a merger doesn't cost to much dsp

Re: looking for an easy way to check all used CC's in project
cant you copy and paste them in to a notepad? i dont know if midi monitor is copyable, since i never tried.
Re: looking for an easy way to check all used CC's in project
Yes. I just hooked up midi-ox which allows for input monitoring and will copy to clipboard.

Re: looking for an easy way to check all used CC's in project
cool, you can use one of spacef notepads to have the info attached to the project.
