Creamware as a sound card with Wavelab 4

Having been able to install Scope 4.5 successfully (thank you) I now want to use
Wavelab 4. It lists Creamware as an available soundcard but won't play
the file that's in the demo. It says either the sample rate or bit depth
may be in correct. I hope I don't have to manually change that all
the time. I figured 24 bit 44.1 will be perfect for most of my use with
Paris and Cubase therefore Wavelab too.
In the Scope setup should it be set to Master or Slave to work with
Wavelab and eventually Cubase 4? I have copied the new asio.dll
into Scope already.
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks again!
