I would like to know one thing though, why is it when Scientists destroy animals with drugs it's called Science, and when I give my Dog an 8 Ball it's called animal cruelty?
It's absurd.
My Dog loves the stuff. It helps him stay awake for long hours as he guards the Homestead.
He eats less food so I can have more money for gear, and I hardly pick up any Dog shit, about 6 pounds less actually.
Well if the Bees show bad judgement when doing Cocaine, perhaps we should march on Washington and demand Congress stop packing their beaks.

Below is my faithful hunter after a good sized wiff. Notice he is not even interested in the food. When he's out of Blow he would take the food and my hand with it.

hello bifop!

I refuse to be bombarded w/ the " World Crisis " media blitz that I cannot seem to avoid.
Televison, cable, newspapers, etc.
I enjoy reading my 3000 + pages of manuals I have printed and reading Wagner scores. etc. Even though my sound libraries cannot achieve those beautiful articulations I enjoy trying anyway. Time well spent.
I even enjoy looking at a Victoria Secrets catalogues that my female counterpart has strewn across the house. Allesandra Ambrosia makes me smile as much as a 6 Oscillator preset in Solaris.
I find that watching the 3 Stooges and the Family guy w/ my son is so silly but it causes me to laugh. In this way I can block out all of the depressing news and I feel so good after an hour of laughter it just makes me more productive.
I just thought I'd try and share a joke and glad I could feel good about everything.
These threads about XITE-1 and Scope 5.0 depress me, the summing experiments are painfully boring, the violence, the corruption...........makes me seek eversion elsewhere.

I actually have to thank Braincell as his post was funny and it caused me to read even more ridiculous stuff and one thing lead to another, etc. But honestly Bees onCocaine?

I have blocked out all negativity and have been laughing for days now and I love it. My son is so much fun to hang around with and I have learned his secret to continuos joy.....................Block everything out and let in the laughter. Watching him and his friends torture my Dog Dozier w/ their laser pen lights at night, and the way they harmlessley harrass drivers passing by w/ iceballs, etc.

It is so much fun I can't think about this other crap anymore.

Let's laugh for a couple months together.
When XITE-1 and Scope 5.0 arrives we can get all serious again and have happy discussions and share new ideas.

Your reaction is pretty typical. Scientific research leads to knowledge which applies to other areas. Obviously cocaine addicted bees isn't a problem duh! They are studying the nature of addiction. It is interesting that such a primitive creature can be addicted to a drug. Bees were probably picked because they have been studied so extensively; in fact, bees are very important not just for agriculture (without them we would probably not have enough food) but for the survival of many plants and animals on earth. As for the "the government wasting money", this study was actually done in Australia so none of your precious tax dollars were spent on it. This post does illustrate however the fact that people are trying to stop science. Government investment in science is very important and has lead not only to increased knowledge but many important advances in technology and medicine. This internet you are using was invented by DARPA. A government agency. I was very happy that Obama appointed a Nobel prize winning physicist as head of the DOE. For years now, Bush and the republicans have been doing their best to stop science from progressing. When stupid congressmen who don't know jack shit about science make jokes about studies they don't understand, it just point out the inadequacy of our educational system. Yes it is nice that anyone can run for office but I just wish they had to pass some sort of intelligence test first.

If they DID KNOW (not that hard, as it's based on the most simple logic of eating and shitting), then why was it ever allowed to apply those drugs as 'fat boosters' in agriculture.

Whatever it was - would you consider the situation as 'under control' at any time ?
now they have severe problems in health care - but don't really talk about it.
it's not cancer or a cardiovascular event that's (statistically) most likely to terminate your life...
in fact it's a plain, simple infection - a sepsis, caused by bacteria which are immune to treatment, nurtured by 'scientifically' tolerated drug abuse.

I don't consider true science a bad thing at all, but my personal estimation is that 95% of those employed und that label aren't even capable to THINK strictly scientific.
Which means that the majority in that domain handles stuff way beyond their mental capabilities.

Rather expect corruption, gread and sick ambition to power and overselfishness than moral.
I read scientific literature since I was a schoolboy (skateboards weren't invented yet, so I filled my time with astronomy, geology, paleontology, biology, chemistry, archeology, astrophysics, all that sh*t...).
Later I've worked with leading edge medical technology, so you may assume I at least got an idea what I'm writing about.

I have no problem in principal with artificial life. We have been manipulating genes for thousands of years. Certainly government funding of all kinds of studies is a good thing. Any scientist will tell you that knowledge can lead down unexpected paths and new discoveries. The NIH, NASA and NOAA must continue. To hell with the religious Luddites and the right wing nut jobs and libertarians. If taxation is a problem for Jimmy then let's just revoke the tax exemption for churches and donations to them. We would have piles of money then.

The solution will be electromagnetic, totally transcending the fuel-burn/consume paradigm altogether.

Majority of science is heading in totally the wrong direction due to greed and corruption.

When Yellowstone blows, we'll have to find someone else to blame for global warming.

i call you uninformed and a little gullible.

first, volcanic activity last year dwarfed human co2 output by huge factor. CO2 IS LIFE. without it there is NOTHING alive on the face of the earth. it is less than 1% of all "greenhouse gasses"(WATER VAPOR is the undisputed king of greenhouse gasses at 98%. perhaps we should ban that and drain the oceans...) and only a tiny fraction of that can be linked to humans. PLUS, there is NO global warming. the earth is done warming for the moment, now it is cooling. there is not now, nor has there EVER been "stable climate". only con men wish you to believe otherwise.

second, whenever these wise all-knowing men change a gene, there are hundreds of other changes that randomly occur. releasing these things into the environment is stupid if not criminal, more likely the latter.

also, if there are people who MAKE money out of NOTHING and then LOAN it to governments, then why should the PUBLIC pay for any of this b$? to hell with your taxes. INCOME TAX IS NOT PAID TO THE GOVERNMENT. THE GOVERNMENT, BY LAW CAN ONLY GET MONEY FROM TARRIFS ON INTERSTATE AND INTERNETIONAL TRADE. 100% OF THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE USA COMES FROM TARRIFS ON TRADE AND FEES FOR SERVICES. 0% COMES FROM INCOME TAX. local governments have property and use taxes.
