Ive tried uninstalling the win ata drivers that i landed up installing on my asus cus mobo, everytime i remove them, when i reboot windows reinstalls them. How do i get rid of them so i can check DMA

Winkey+Pause, Device Manager, then find the driver, press Update Driver, and point it to your Windows CDrom, and overwrite.

Did that work?

Many thanks sub human yes it worked fine, tho the driver it installed is the intel 82371 AB/EB i assume this is better than the ata intel, its a udma 100 drive

I heard you want the microsoft ATA driver.

Someone on CW forums suggested I cleared up this issue even further:

1. The drivers on the CUSL2 CDROM (at least my copy) which contain i815 drivers for Win98, contain this "evil Intel IDE driver"

2. The Microsoft driver included on the WinME CDROM seems to work better than the above driver.

3. There is now a new Intel driver called the "Intel Application Accelerator" (IAA) which is basically a glorified IDE driver. Some people (using other audio gear, not Creamware) have reported small boosts in disk speeds after installing this driver. I will test this and report my findings, and if anyone is feeling daring & wants to beat me to it, post here!

yes, I'm into this:
Version 1.1 of Intel Application Accelerator seems to be ok. Yes, on my CUSL2-C it runs very smooth now.
For install with SCSI I'd recommend
Step 1: Chipset-drivers, infinst_enu.zip (US) or iim_320_1008.exe (download intel.com or asuscom.de)
Step 2: aspi.exe or Roxio-SW (has own ASPI drivers!) (download adaptec.com or roxio.com)
Step 3: iaa11_multi.exe
