Yeah, funny.
Some of the comments in the Youtube thread were even funnier.

Nice post.
Rachmaninoff's music was not hard to play though. He seemed to be a considerate composer as Van Clyburn use to reveal. However, reaching the intervals of a ninth were needed, which through Czerny and Hanon excercises can be easily done. They are the books that beginners need to achieve the proper dexterity to progress.
My hands are large but my Grandma thankfully wouldn't feed me until I practiced for an hour everytime I visited.
The Japanes guy kills me though. But he didn't let it stop him from playing.
Below is a major 6-11 stretch which Rachy easily could sustain.
I can do minor 6-10's all day long, but the 11th's are sloppy as hell.

As I young piano student, I remember reading that Rachie's span was from a C to G (!). On the other side of things, he found Mozart fiendishly difficult.
I think the 3rd Piano Concerto would be a part of my desert-island collection...

Check Out Bruce Hornsby.
A head like a Pumpkin, 6'8", and guaranteed 1 1/2 Octaves.
The guy sits at a 7" Grand and makes it look like a Baby Grand from Helpenstill.

It's not even his hand. He's just trying to impress any easily fooled ladies that might be hanging around here.
