This one's more of the 80's "kitsch" rock approach. Still with prominent "lead" bass style. Just not sure if it's just 80's sounding, or is a mix with something more modern.. leans towards just sounding old for me, so I'd like to modernize it a bit more... but an 8beat at this tempo is tough to modernize. Anyway, bottom line it sounds retro and kind of silly, which is pretty much the effect I like, hehe. I also kind of like how some of the parts are strangely dry, but I guess that's a matter of taste.

I'm not sure how much the 80's played a role in defining my musical taste as I was born '79... so it's just stuff I remembered hearing as a kid I guess.. It's not like I have a stash of 80's music that I recently listened to, so most of whatever it is that I call 80's, is purely from memory from my childhood.

Also, it's debatable if going full "hey, I'm playing lead!" approach I'm using on the recent songs is legit in '08 terms.. Instrumentals with blaring leads aren't accepted anymore, but musically I feel there needs to be a foreground hook, so to me it makes sense in technical terms. (as opposed to socially acceptable)

Through my N.Nevada set-up using the Klipsch monitors this sounds way cool.
The Melodies and Bass lines used are all of a Blue-scale Flat 5th nature, which sound really nice w/ the chords which are of a Major nature. Suprisingly nice effect.
Synth presets used in the first couple of minutes are well chosen also.
It does sound really Metro-Retro.

Nice Work.
