Hello all!

I've been given a couple of Creamware cards - a Luna card and a 1st-generation Power Pulsar - which is most awesome. I'm about to chuck these into the old beige box to turbocharge my Scope rig (with STDM cable, of course), but I've got one quick question...

The IO plate on one of the cards I've been given (the old Power Pulsar) has a power cable, of the sort you normally plug into disk drives (with a tail coming off it to allow you to plug something else in as well). Do I need to plug this in at all? Or not?

it's for powering luna i/o boxes with z-link(you must have a z-link card with 2 ports that look like firewire ports)....

Right you are - I just wondered if it was some kind of 3.5V/5V compatibility thing (I haven't used the older type cards before, see).

Cheers for the help, things seem to be running quite smoothly, in that I'm now showing all 34 DSPs in the DSP Load view in Scope.

There are, however a couple of minor issues that hopefully someone can help me with?

Issue #1:

On booting up Windows (and, therefore, Scope), I get this message:
"Module P-Plate analog dest is not appropriate for your hardware."

Is this anything to do with the fact that I've only got the cable whip attached to one of the cards? Or is this a case of Scope getting the two Pro cards muddled up, and not knowing which card has which IO plate?


Issue #2:

Windows Media Player (and, for that matter, any WDM program - it's just that WMP is the only one I've tried) isn't happy. It tells me I either have no audio hardware, or that it is in use. This is odd, as I thought Windows only 'sees' the Wave Source and Wave Dest modules. However, starting a new project and loading new Wave Source and Dest modules doesn't make this problem go away. Any ideas?

rebuild your startup project. the system has mixed up which card is which. reloading i/o from the proper card and then saving as startup will fix that problem permanently.

check your windows default audio settings...

I actually tried creating a new project, but that didn't help - until I saved it as the Startup project, and restarted my PC. That seems to have un-confused it, and now I'm not getting the error message, and WDM drivers seem to be working perfectly.
