I run two Pulsar 2 boards on a mac G4 OS 9.1 and VST 5.0 r1

Im working on a song with some sounds from Pulsar and some from VST softsynts

From pulsar I run 120 BPM drumloops
and pads and selfplayed hihats.(all mixed in pulsars mixer)
The Ulli settings is set to 7 ms
(I have tried 3 ms to with the sameprobl.)

In Cubase VST wich is set to run with the Creamware ASIO.
and routed thru the asio panels in pulsar to the Pulsar analog Dest
(BPM is set to 120 in VST like the loops)
But !!! when I play a kick drum with LM4
in VST (and VST Mixer) over the pulsar drumloops
and hi hats. it dosent sound tight !!!
I must delay the VST synth (LM4)
to +0.300 ms
or delay the creamware midi by - 0.300

hmmmm ??

is it like this or must I change to logic?
or wait for XTC or OS 3 where everything
can plop up like VST instruments ??

sorry if it is oftopic Q
is the prob in VST or Pulsar
or the Asio ??
or .... is it me

NO matter how much latency the card has, it will always be corrected when playing back.

Problem is elsewhere. Did you try to check the small box with the delay compensation ?

Maybe it'll help!

btw, Use Logic !!! ! you can use ASIO+EASI+SoundManager Simultaniously!!

ehhe

I have tried the box with delay compensation
maybe its the fuckin OMS again
OMS its like nightmare

ok I work around the probms.
by setting midi delay on a spec channel
but yep i think I will try out logic

To Airpollo
"NO matter how much latency the card has, it will always be corrected when playing back. "

Are you sure about this ? I thought so too but i tried it and it was far from the case. I recorded a bass drum with EXS 24 and 1 from Saturn and 1 from the STS 4000.
The EXS 24 kick was spot on as expected the Saturn was 4 ms late as expected (this is my ULLI setting) and the STS 4000 was way off, more then 10 ms late.
Go figure.

To the original question off this thread. My belief is that the LM 4 is sample exact and the Pulsar is not. Thats why it is'nt tight, but 300 ms is WAYYYY to much.
Compare to my notes above.

Hi jupiter
thnks

the delay I hear is
like a flam (u know what I mean)
Its almost tight but not supertight.
so i guess it must be 3 ms
not 300ms

At 3ms you will hear phase cancellation.
So it must be like over 20ms in order to hear the "flam" effect.

cya boy.

Jupiter8: strange... hmm I've never experienced such problem.

Its workin now.

Well this is strange !!
hmmmmm
I installed Logic.
dont know much about logic.
but everything was in synk !
LOGIC. great in that way

ok.
later I started VST
EVERYTHING WAS IN SYNK ???

Betwen changin the programs,
I havent done NOTHING at all ?? !!!!!

VST just goes in synk ??
just like that.
thats great but very very strange.

he he maybe VST needs logic
on the Harddrive

And the Modular2 in Pulsar.
just downloaded it from my page free.
WHAAAO. now I know what they been
talkin about. A.N.A.L.O.G !!!!

thanks for taking your time.

Modular2 is the best part of Pulsar IMHO. Go to the Modular forum immediately and load up !
