did you notice how long it took from the first announcement to release?

Arturia announces Origin - 18th January 2007 / Arturia releases Origin - 9th October 2008

"The project has taken much longer than we initially thought and, since we had announced the product early, $Productname has been eagerly awaited by the market. In the end, taking more time has proven necessary to foster quality and details."

I start seing some parallels....

Did you have the chance to try it ?
... or are you talking about the VSTi ?

As a Noah Ex user, I thought this one could also be a good complementary tool for it... then John Bowen announced his Solaris.
Both are out of my budget ... as the NOAH was when it was first released !!!

Meanwhile I will just keep on playing with my "toys" :)

I am just curious about the Origin ... confident about the Solaris, and wait for an Xite-1 little sister.

PS: I just suspect SonicCore to have delayed the Xite-1 release because they want to offer a full range of solution with the Xite-1 being the top solution and teaser

I hope not because even after the lengthy delay it looks like Arturia are releasing the product unfinished.....
- Alternatively, use an existing synthesizer recreation: the Minimoog, the ARP 2600*, the Jupiter-8* or the Prophet 5*.
- High-Quality Real time Effects: Phaser, Chorus, Delay, Reverb, Distortion, Parametric EQ*, Bit Crusher*.

- Origin lets you open dedicated software on your Mac and PC in the form of Origin Connection an ergonomic application allowing to archive preset, exchange data, upgrade firmware**.
* To be delivered later on as a free upgrade.

** With a future update to the Origin line, you will also be able to open dedicated software on your Mac and PC and use the instrument as an AU or VST plug-in. Unfortunately this feature isn't available with this initial release of Origin (and will not be available for some time).
Looks like some of it's main features aren't actually coming with the unit yet (re:- everything marked with * or **.

What fine print is that Kylie? The x10/x2.5 power thing?

no, Mark, I'm thinking of these:

- Nigel has been discontinued
- RTAS for UAD-2 is currently not supported (will be available in a future free update)
- more than half of the Precision Series Plugins are "currently being ported to UAD-2" as well as the all new Moog Filter, Roland RE-201, SPL Transient Designer and VCA VU (and thus not available as of now).

buy UAD-2, get all the plugin licenses transferred to the new card(s), sell the old boards and then realize that you have some licensed stuff you can't currently use.

-greetings, markus-

that's what we hope for. applies to SCP5 for the old hardware, too, of course...

That will be the amazing thing if they pull it off - my 1997 Pulsar 1 running on Vista or a 2008(09?) Xite-1 running on Vista all with the SAME PLUGINS!?!
